Prospex Energy

First Interview with CEO Tom Reynolds

Good Afternoon Team.

I just sat down with Tom, discussing his background and how he came to lead Prospex Energy, before diving into the company’s strategic vision and investment philosophy.

Tom walked me through the three-pillar framework that underpins how Prospex evaluates and manages its assets, and we explored which assets best exemplify that approach.

We talked about capital allocation and funding, including the recently oversubscribed CLN raise, the IMMAGE academic collaboration at El Romeral, and how Prospex is thinking about financing its ambitious 2027 multi-well drilling programmes across three assets without resorting to equity raises.

We talked through each of the core assets in detail — from the updated seismic picture at Selva Malvezzi and the relationship with operator Po Valley Energy, to the production trial results at Viura and the timeline to capital recovery under the B-share structure, to the remarkably smooth EIA process at El Romeral and the status of the direct Enagas pipeline connection.

We also touched on the suspended Tesorillo licence and what a political or regulatory path forward might actually require.

We then considered Prospex’s newest venture in Poland, where the Mniszów discovery — left undeveloped since 1966 — is now being reassessed with modern techniques, and about what the entry into a third European jurisdiction means for the team and execution capacity.
