Rift Helium
Post-IPO, let's go
Good Morning Team.
I don’t mean to alarm you but a third of the global helium supply is still landlocked behind a closed strait. Even if it reopens, the infrastructure is damaged or destroyed. Russia has cut the West off entirely.
Spot prices have more than doubled.
The world is scrambling for new, independent, geopolitically neutral helium supply — and it needs it yesterday.
And Rift is one company that might just deliver it.
Let’s dive in.
Two months…
Rift has dropped its first serious post-IPO operational update — the kind of RNS that doesn’t shift the share price but should.
From the moment the IPO closed, this team went straight into execution mode. EIA advancing with Tanzania’s regulators. Seismic planning and procurement running in parallel. Early-stage drilling preparation already underway.
Community and government stakeholder engagement ticking along in the background.
Every workstream moving simultaneously.
This is what a competent management team looks like. After years of watching junior explorers drift between fundraises, it’s refreshing.
Roadmap intact
Here is the beautiful thing about this update - there’s nothing to worry about.
No milestone has slipped and no deadline has been quietly pushed back. The 12-month catalyst schedule published today is essentially identical to what the company laid out at IPO.
So let’s go through each one — because understanding what these catalysts do is the difference between watching this story and understanding it.
EIA Approval
The Environmental Impact Assessment is a regulatory prerequisite. Rift can’t put a seismic truck in the field without it.
Tanzania’s National Environment Management Council is responsible for reviewing the project’s environmental footprint, consulting local communities and signing off that the exploration programme meets the required standards.
It’s a little bureaucratic, but it’s also non-negotiable, and completion is the event that transforms Rift from a funded plan into an active operator.
When the EIA lands, the programme begins.
Seismic Contract Award
Once regulatory approval is in hand, Rift awards the contract to a specialist seismic acquisition crew who will physically go into the Rukwa Basin and shoot the 3D survey.
This is a significant procurement decision — choosing the right contractor for the terrain, the timing and the budget — and its announcement will signal that boots are about to hit the ground.
3D Seismic Acquisition
Right now, Rift’s leads are defined by a coarse grid of old 2D seismic lines — essentially a handful of slices through the earth, sometimes only one or two lines per lead.
The geological picture is promising but blurry.
The independent assessors at NSAI were explicit - the mapped leads may be exaggerated because the data resolution is so low.
3D seismic changes that. Instead of a few slices, you get a full three-dimensional volume of the subsurface — every fault and fold, and every structural closure imaged with high resolution that tells you whether the traps are real.
This is the programme that competitors Helium One and Noble Helium never had over Rift’s specific acreage.
Rift goes in with better data, better technology and a cleaner balance sheet.
Seismic Interpretation
Once the data is acquired, geophysicists will spend several months processing and interpreting it. This is where the real value unlock happens.
Remember those headline probability of success figures — 5% to 15% across Rift’s leads? NSAI was explicit that those low numbers reflect data quality, not geological pessimism.
They’re a verdict on imaging resolution, not on the helium system itself — which has already been proven by years of competitor drilling in the same basin.
A positive 3D interpretation — one that confirms structural closure and seal integrity on the mapped leads — upgrades those probability figures to the 30–50% range.
That’s a 2-10x improvement in confidence before a drill bit has turned. It’s also the same time a revised CPR gets published, the story gets repriced and the people who bought at IPO start smiling.
Drilling
H1 2027.
Two wells.
Drilled with background blessing from Pulsar Helium’s 7 for 7 team
If the 3D seismic has done its job — if the structures are confirmed and the closure is real and the probability of success has been upgraded — then these are well-supported exploration wells in a proven helium basin, drilled with full structural confidence, by a team that knows exactly what it is doing.
Discovery here does not just re-rate the stock.
It delivers new, independent geopolitically neutral helium supply into a market that is short of exactly that.
Yes, the share price has drifted
The stock has slipped a little since admission. You want to know if something is wrong.
Nothing is wrong.
AIM junior explorers often drift after IPO. It’s annoying but flippers take their turn. Some early investors inevitably trim and momentum traders find nothing to chase in a company that — by design — won’t drill until 2027.
This is the AIM junior explorer lifecycle.
But the helium market is not drifting. Neither is Pulsar’s technical support and their track record. Or the confirmed helium seeps at 8-10% concentration sitting above Rift’s acreage. The proven basin. The £8.1 million in the bank that’s within a whisker of the current market cap.
We have a sequence of catalysts about to start landing, each one compressing risk and building the case for the drill.
And we’re fully funded for that drilling.
The market is pricing Rift at a fraction of what a single successful well would be worth. That gap — between today’s valuation and the discovery value — is the trade.
The bottom line
We are two months into a 12-month setup.
The company is executing.
As milestones hit, as EIA approval, seismic contract, acquisition and interpretation builds systematically, we will see compressing geological uncertainty and a probability of success higher than you might expect.
Patience in small caps is sorely lacking.
But it’s a virtue for a reason.

Thank you Charles as always. Nice succinct update. This is definitely a proper conviction investment 😊
A tasty treat...keeping me focused on why I am invested here..appreciate your top draw quality work ..thank you!
